- Interviewer: Do you think there's going to be something romantic happening in Rollins life anytime soon?
- Kelli: Well... Rollins really struggled this year; starting a new job, dealing with her assault, and coming out on top from a gambling addiction... And when her and Benson pretended to be a couple, it struck something within her and you'll see more of those repercussions in the future.
I don’t necessarily ”ship” them, but I love how they always stand so close to each other.
Should the series return, Leight hopes to push those boundaries even further with season-long arcs for the entire cast and possibly another love interest for Benson. “Haden isn’t the end of the line for her romantic life,” he says. “That may have been the rebound off of Elliott and now she’s ready.”

Is Law & Order: SVU Returning Next Year?
Warren Leight joined Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as its showrunner just before star Christopher Meloni jumped ship. It was a particularly dismal time for NBC. Nobody would blame Leight if he wanted out of the long-running procedural after just one season. But it seems the opposite is true.
